Agreed, I think it's the continued confusion and dilution as to what research is as well as mistaking the summation of information for the actual synthesis of new ideas derived from multiple sources.

Same, same... But it looks so interesting, and I'm really liking how Mongoose seems dedicated to expanding, somewhat radically, the Traveller canon and not just rehashing old content (which, admittedly, they have done plenty of).

Movie you've seen more than six times, no Star Wars or Trek or LOTR.

Heck, we've cancelled plans to travel outside the country this year because I was born outside of the country (to two US citizens, my father was stationed in West Germany after his tour in Vietnam). We just don't trust that an overzealous border agent is going to deny me re-entry due to that.

The absolute joke is that it's called D&D and that the dice are the "shiny clicky-clacky math rocks" 😉

Lol, forgot to include Strieber in that list. I honestly don't recall McCammon writing any vampire novels, but I suppose it's probable that he did - or did so post 1985.

How young? The Dark is Rising sequence and Prydain books were early faves in grade school.

Wow, I haven't thought about this book in years. Really amazing writing, glad it's getting a new edition.

Absolutely! I was just recommending her to a friend this past weekend because her beautiful, lyrical prose is like listening to mythology - and explaining that there is a 50% chance my son is named after the Prince of Hed (if not, he's named after the Duke of Corwyn).

I don't know what the term is for Amazon Kindle books, but it's not "buy" anymore. It's more like a fee for borrowing a book they can take back whenever they want without having to tell you that they did it or explain why.

It's even odds as to if my son is named after the Prince of Hed or the Duke of Corwyn. McKillip was indeed a treasure.

Over the years I've run into several websites that have treated Delta Green (and related) game material as real. It's been interesting trying to figure out if it's a gaming site or someone's conspiracy theory data dump.
