Given recent events, some gun manufacturer should make a gun with a built in engraving printer. You just sync it to your phone, and you can type in whatever messages you need on your shells before you fire them.

Nothing screams strength and character than having a mild inconvenience blown into a national spectacle.

Charlie Kirk went out the way he wanted for all Americans: in service of the Second Amendment. I will mourn in the same way he mourned victims of school shootings.
Charlie Kirk's allies warn Americans: Mourn him properly or else
After the fatal shooting of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk, U.S. Republicans have a warning for Americans: Mourn him respectfully or suffer the consequences.

28 years later continue the franchise's tradition of being utterly stupid. The ppl depicted deserve everything they get.

IF, IF, getting infected blood in your eye is a death sentence, maybe, MAYBE, wear swimming goggles or something.

The stupidity is more horrifying than the zombies.

God Microsoft why do you suck so much? I am trying to pay with a new, non-expired, credit card. Please accept it, and if not, tell me what you don't like instead of highlighting all input fields in red and saying "please check all details are correct". I HAVE AND THEY ARE FUCK TAKE MY MONEY

Not starting on book 4-6 of a series because I thought book 3 ended things just fine and no need to drag it out.

Federal agents violently detained a food delivery driver as he emerged from a D.C. coffee shop Saturday morning.

The incident captured on video showed the officers throwing him to the ground and beating him before sweeping him away in an unmarked vehicle. wapo.st/45Egtkc

Billions of dollars, thousands of our brightest minds, tons and tons of CO2, and LLMs still doesn't understand the rules of chess.

Took 5 tries but finally got a workable cap for my Staedtler Mars Lumograph digital jumbo.

Turns out the profile is build entirely out of circles.

Turns out you can't use reverse image search on images in Google Drive without doing something like importing them all into Google Photos first.

Kinda shit for a product from a "search" company.

Alan Kay had some bangers. This one really resonates with why I make things:

“We make, not to have, but to know.”
― Alan Kay

Some times it is not to "know how to do it" but to "know that I can".

My #steamdeck contributing 0.05 DNG/s to my DNG conversion cluster's throughput. Every bit helps - I have 50,000 65MP DNGs to convert to JPEGs >.<

When you need every bit of compute in the house... the steamdeck runs linux - it can be in the cluster!

Shout out to @system76.bsky.social for making a great live image of Pop!_OS with excellent NVIDIA support. Was able to turn a windows computer into another node in my ad-hoc cluster running @darktablefr.bsky.social [darktable] with full opencl support.

Turns out the trick to make your home cluster to run 2x faster is to spend $7AUD for a cat6 cable so data distribution isn't bottlenecked by a 100Mbps network segment.

This was an interesting read on reproducibility in the face of float point errors.

I imagine using arbitrary precision numbers will fix it, though I imagine it will also be very very slow.
When good pseudorandom numbers go bad – Notes from a data witch
Multivariate normal sampling can be wildly irreproducible if you’re not careful. Sometimes more than others. There are eldritch horrors, ill-conditioned matrices, and floating point nightmares in here...
