i've finally found it. the dark souls of TASing
cropped picture of the BizHawk emulator's hotkey menu. the hotkey for Frame Advance, arguably the most important thing in TASing, has been edited to be Alt+F4, the standard windows shortcut to force close the currently open window. i'd like to stress that this is an edited image and not actually possible to do on BizHawk, as pressing alt+f4 will just... close the window... anyway, thank you for partaking in this alt text.

i've reached the point with sweet home where even the game itself is telling me to stop
a very glitchy screenshot from a tool-assisted speedrun of the NES game Sweet Home. a text box reading "ストップ！" ("sutoppu!", a katakana transliteration of "stop!") is on screen, which normally indicates the game should be paused. the game is not paused. this is extremely difficult to describe in an alt text, it requires a lot of context to make any sense. i'm so sorry to anyone vision-impaired who may be reading this. i hope your day is blessed regardless.
