The look on my 8 yo’s face when the dog trainer explained that you can’t give a whining dog what they want and you can’t play with a misbehaving dog. And then my response of same with kids.

I’m Ene, if I go home to spend time with my grandmother in hospice on my weekends off in med school/grad school then I will fall behind.

I’m still a doctor and spent invaluable time with a dying loved one.

Preschooler wasn’t following the rules of a game. Had to explain that is cheating like Harbaugh and Michigan cheated. This resonated more than I thought as she has now said several times to herself “well I don’t want to be like Michigan.”

Thinking this is the year we let our spirited second-grader watch Home Alone. Husband is legit concerned kid would like it so much that he will try to sneak out of our next vacation to Home Alone himself. I have nothing to counter this argument.
