Casar: You can quickly explain Doge with just two numbers.

First: $8 million a day. That’s how much Elon Musk collects in federal government contracts.

Second: $65 a day. That’s how much the average senior—someone who has worked their entire life—gets from Social Security.…

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

Really worth watching this. Rep. Bill Keating is clearly feeling a little out of his depth here—not quite sure what to say, not quite sure how to react—but he sees work that needs doing, sees a stand that needs taking, and so he just does it. He just does it. Right on.
Texas Republican Keithself storms out of the meeting he's supposed to be running because a Democrat asked him to treat his colleague Sarah McBride with respect. These people would not last one day as a trans person.

My 2.5yo can now start the washer (once I've loaded the soap), load and start the dryer, fill and start the coffee maker, and preheat the oven to 350.

He thinks it's all the best.

There it is: a six-word thesis of democracy. But if you have time for two more, allow me to suggest these for a punchy conclusion that sounds great when it's shouted by a crowd: NO EXCEPTIONS.
NO KINGS
NO SLAVES
NO NAZIS

gets you the three good American wars, in chronological order no less. sounds insane to argue against any of them and yet it is very clear which side you're on
I see the phrase "competitive authoritarianism" thrown around a lot on here and while that may be descriptive of the moment we're in I cannot stress enough that you should never say that phrase to a normal voter and instead just say Trump's trying to be king.

Sharing these numbers because I wasn't aware of them myself. In the US:

* 1 in 5 unvaccinated people who get measles are hospitalized

* 1 in 20 children with measles get pneumonia

* 1 to 3 in 1000 die

If you're not immune, close contact with an infected person gives you measles 90% of the time
Measles – NFID
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease that can result in severe, sometimes permanent, complications including pneumonia, seizures, brain damage, and even death

Today's small and miraculous favor is that the dryer is not in fact broken but was on Air Dry instead of Heat Dry and all the clothes are drying properly without major appliance service needed.

12 straight hours of norovirus. No thank you.

Had to cancel a trip up north to speak at a church and I'm bummed.

But being able to hear, whenever I was deliriously awake, my wife keeping our kids so safe and happy: amazing.

I'm so lucky.

Just heard a Minnesota anti-hunger group that supplies food shelves with fresh, nutritious food from Minnesota farmers still can’t access federal funding.

They’ve had to pause some of their work. It’s causing a lot of uncertainty for families trying to figure out how to put food on the table.
