I know, everybody should leave X, but I think an exception should be made solely for Joyce Carol Oates so she can keep wounding Musk's withered soul on his own site and he can't do a thing about it.

I started vinyasa yoga in September. I think it's alleviating my long covid symptoms

I saw a cardiologist & a pulmonologist. Both did lots of tests which said things looked "normal". The only advice I got was to do cardio

When I did do cardio, I wouldn't be able to get out of bed the next day

I missed the detail that Mark Carney ditched the luxury tax on private jets, yachts, and vehicles over $100,000 in the budget, though I also can’t say I’m surprised.

SpaceX told investors it may never have to pay US federal income tax.

Thanks to a change made during Trump’s first term, it can count the more than $5 billion in losses it racked up by late 2021 against future taxable income. Meanwhile, 76% of its income in 2021 came from government contracts.

Yesterday at Virtual Coffee, we talked about the impact of AI on mental models and the impact on edu, kids, healthcare, etc. Not for or against AI, but with the perspective of “it’s here, and it’s impacting society, so how do we make sure it does it in the best way possible.”

Chinese cars are taking the auto world by storm. But the US and Canada are being left behind.

On a recent trip to New Zealand, I decided to see what we’re missing by taking a few for a spin. US automakers won’t be able to hide behind tariffs for long.
I drove some Chinese cars. Here’s what I thought.

Mark Carney wants economic growth at any cost. To achieve it, he’s going after tech investment and pushing hard for AI adoption.

In the process, AI regulations are being thrown on the bonfire and tech harms are an afterthought. It’s a recipe for disaster.

I have worked with so many devs who justified their decisions with "because that's how $FAANG does it”.

My responsees move between:
1. Turns out, that's not how $FAANG does it
2. You are not $FAANG scale
3. You are not $FAANG maturity
4. That stack is way more complex than what we need
"but why can't small companies make good software then?"

because the majority of small companies are started by either big tech alumni, or kids who emulate them. they blindly copy both the tech stack (no your website doesn't need React) and the org design because they think it's Best Practices.

A lady DMed the store I worked at, asking for something to be delivered. We replied "no we don't deliver". It went back and forth a couple of times until she said "Well ChatGPT says you do, you should type in your store name and see what it has to say"
Yeah I have a ton of these. Inboxes have been toast for awhile now. I low-key changed all my info. Now five people can actually reach me. AI will do this to everyone.
there's been a significant uptick in my inbox of ppl sending me 'tips' which is just their conversations with ChatGPT or some model and being like, 'i...dunno man...i think something is happening here and its alive'

If and when America finds a way out of authoritarianism, not only will ICE have to be abolished: All these people will need to be held accountable in a court of law for the monstrosities they are committing - those who are ordering them as well as those who are carrying them out.

Every single one.
Monstrous:
