Beautiful phylogenomic study of Maverick transposons of vertebrates: @josegabrielnb and @ArisKatzourakis conclude that Mavericks represent an ancient lineage of mostly aquatic dsDNA viruses, which integrated into animal host genomes and have persisted for ~ 419 million years!
