I wrote this article in conversation with Claudia B. Haake whose article focused on Wampum in Iroquois Diplomatic Petitions of the Removal Era in the 19th century and Miranda Johnson who explored Māori Petitions and the late-19th Century Colonial State.

In my article, I demonstrate how I use West Papuan petitions sent to the UN to create a counter-narrative of global governance in the era of decolonisation and to nuance existing accounts of the Act of Free Choice by incorporating local voices and experiences. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
