Voters could take individual responsibility, sure. I did that in the sense that I felt clear in who I was voting for and why. But I think most politicians could learn something from Zohran's approach to messaging and communications

I am following the local elections the same way I follow the NYC elections - reading articles, watching social media content, I follow both you and WedgeLive, I've read their websites. I'm not failing to pay attention but their platforms are not anywhere near as clear and focused as Zohran's

Agree with this. Mariame Kaba posted on here asking people to name 3 policy proposals that Mamdani supported. I live in Minneapolis and could easily name 3. I could not do the same for Fateh, Davis, or Hampton here in Minneapolis

I support rent control btw! And I'm down for my property taxes to go up if they are being used to support my neighbors. Just homeownership is a harder road than it got made out to be

I feel like my housing costs go up faster as a homeowner than as a renter, and they are WAY more unpredictable (surprise $20k sewer line repair)

I'm a newish homeowner & I was surprised how much my monthly payment DOES go up every year. When I bought in 2021 my monthly payment was around $1150. This year it was $1265, and next year it will be $1380. When I was a renter, my monthly payment went from $550 to $720 from 2013 - 2021

The workers who are still here are under more and more pressure

Yes. Thank God I am not job hunting but my work (public library) is in a hiring freeze with no end in sight. I used to feel like I could give useful guidance on getting hired but now I'm just like 😬😬😬 pray for all of us that they decide to post at some point in the next year?

Same thing I think! Minneapolis Issues was an e-democracy list and then there were neighborhood ones too. Ahh the good old days

It's also a great game if you have never played.

it is incredible. speaking a Minnesotan, Amy Klobuchar is already quite boring so this is savage

I am convinced that Xfinity chat support is genAI. I recently had a very confusing conversation with someone who kept telling me she would be here with me while I filled out a form. She also told me false info

No highways in cities would also be fantastic

Yes to this! Most effective thing at getting students to actually read in my courses was a "study guide" assignment that had questions that were directly answered in the text in the order they appeared. You can fill it out as you read along, but you have to do the reading

It's rough out there. I took an online class last semester with a short reflection assignment to begin & end of each week (ex: "what surprised you about the course content this week?") The prof had to tell people not to use genAI for this. My prof was planning to redesign the whole course to adapt

Also all the workers are used to quietly figuring out how to do their work despite nonsensical directives from upper management. Much easier to absorb into existing organizational dynamics

Thank you... There's probably no perfect choice. (And I went to that Lynx game too, my first time! so fun!! Hope you had a great time)
