Copilot is completely unserious. It claimed today that there were no copyright issues if full text articles were uploaded to it for synthesis, because...it doesn't read them anyway.

Amazing.

Even AI can't be bothered to AI. Just makes up a synthesis based on vibes.

Bunch of loud, foul-mouthed, misogynistic lairy teen boys at the back of the bus, but (the socially aware, reasonable) one of them is countering by being reeeaaallllly pedantic about criteria in a 'would you rather' game. It's taking the wind out of their fantasy sails, and it's glorious.

this is potentially TMI but also *v useful information* so: did you know that (in the UK) if you start to feel you're getting a UTI on Saturday evening you can do an online form with eg Boots and be picking up your antibiotics by 10am on Sunday morning? and then start to feel better by 11am?

The BBC experiment with AI for football text commentary is a mess. Blackburn's goal showed at the top of the page but the text commentary was 6 minutes behind. It's boring as hell to read, and late. This is not a winner, BBC.

Apps give companies more power because users can’t modify them, block ads, or protect their privacy.

Live at Web Summit, Cory Doctorow spoke with @rabble.nz about how anticircumvention laws turned apps into ideal tools for data extraction and control.

Somewhat late to the party, but I've decided to ruin my evening with the #HiddenBooksGame

Beginning to wonder if I've just imagined being a librarian for the past 26 years.

How Do Scholars Take Notes?
How do scholars take notes? I like seeing examples of different people’s notetaking, so I asked scholars to show me how they take notes for research.
