David Shoebridge is right when he says that the impact of war is always inflicted on ordinary people.

We have a choice to make.
I choose people.
I choose peace.

Had a great time at the @greens.org.au launch for ACT Federal candidates Isabel Mudford, Sam Carter, and Dani Hungerford for Reps, and Christina Hobbs and Jo Rocke for Senate.

The antidote to despair about the state of the world is action to make it better. #auspol

Had some very much needed belly laughs thanks to Christine Ryan tonight. Very relatable jokes about renting and gardening and stupid Facebook marketplace.

She’s playing a bajillion comedy festivals. Replace a night of doomscrolling with a night of joy.

Trans and gender diverse people are more likely than most to need mental health support at some time in their lives.

There are guidelines to help GPs in providing gender affirming mental health care.

Because we all want people to feel safe to be themselves.

I must take issue with this week’s Saturday Paper quiz.

There’s a couple of tennis questions about who won certain Grand Slams. In both cases, the answers omitted Dylan Alcott. He won all four Grand Slam singles plus a Paralympic gold medal in 2021, plus the doubles Grand Slam in 2019.

It’s not just tech bros who can so easily become authoritarians. I’ve also seen it in progressive movements.

The only way to inoculate against authoritarianism is a radical love approach: give it away. Distribute power, so no one person can bring the movement down.

By leaving interest rates on hold, the RBA has failed to do what is right for Australians & what is right for the economy.

Australians have suffered unnecessarily for too long. Cutting rates would have provided some sensible stimulus to an economy that has almost ground to a halt.

RBA fails households and fails the nation – again
The Reserve Bank of Australia had a great opportunity to give Australians - and the nation’s sluggish economy - something both desperately needed before
