I've lived in seven places in the last 4 years, including a MALL for 3 months. I've been fired, laid off, and let go more times than I can count. I'm going on my third month without a penny. I've been staying with "not all the way Left strangers," and the one or two friends I have left while desperately looking for yet ANOTHER job, but hundreds of applications have yielded middling to zero results.
Through ALL of this, I have diligently shown up at every protest, stage performance, and convention that I still work for. It's a shame those things don't pay well, or at all. I've tried to be a voice for GOOD in my community, and to extend olive branches to those that hate me simply because of what I am, but I am running out of steam, and I am so very tired.
I am days away from being out of medications. l've had zero insurance for the last 2 years, and something, eventually, IS going to give.
I don't know what else I can do.
Watching my country being gutted for profit is nauseating, and I don't see it getting much better in the short term.
Not for me and those like me.
I always seem to escape being On the street at the last second, but I just don't know how much longer I can continue living like this...
The enemy WANTS me to live like this.
The enemy doesn't want me ALIVE AT ALL.
"The enemy" is very clearly the Far Right Oligarch N*Zls plundering our country, and unless YOUR net worth starts with a "B," you'll find out for yourselves soon enough what this is like.
Because you're all next. It's already beginning. I tried to warn you.
I hope both me AND my country are still around a year from now, but I'm starting to have serious doubts about both...
I'll be at protests at the Denver Capitol almost all of next week.

I worked for the Human Rights Campaign for 3 months, in one of the bluest states in the US, when I was homeless and couldn't find any other job.
It was both eye-opening, and NAUSEATING to realize how many bigots don't even realize that trans men EXIST.
