We've been lucky this summer to have Eleiezer Majambare in our lab as a Plant Genome REU student. Today he presented work with his mentor @derekdenney.bsky.social to look for selection on flowering time genes in Chamaecrista fasciculata!!

Ironically having a day of some of my favorite things in the US -- taking an Amtrak train through snowy fields, eating a wonderful sandwich, appreciating some Chicago architecture, catching up w/ a friend (@tylervkent.bsky.social), & now another train to visit a great public university.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is watering the lab's plants. I'm Jewish and not going anywhere, so I'm happy to help my hardworking labbies take a break. Plus, this year I got to learn to use our fun new repeater pipette for controlled watering 😁
