Roe v Wade was canceled because things were supposed to be left up to the states. But now, the flurry of executive orders and trying to create a federal policy on gender. Deep hypocrisy. The saddest part of these cultural wars is the real and devastating effects on trans people and migrants.

Ancient Japanese has a huge number of words related to rain and seasonal changes, but very few words to describe celestial bodies (words for planets like “kinsei” were imported from China). Subaru, the Japanese word for the constellation “Pleiades,” is a rare exception.

Why don’t we have height-based categories in sports? For the majority of sports, I feel it would make more sense to have different categories for taller and shorter people instead of men’s and women’s.
