We have said consistently that the Guard should not be here. It is unsafe for both members of the Guard and communities.

Our deepest condolences go to the two West Virginia families who will now spend this season mourning the loss of loved ones who died while deployed unnecessarily.
NEW: The governor of West Virginia says that two members of the state National Guard shot today in DC have died.

one thing we *can* conclude at this point — those two national guards would not have been shot if trump had not abused his power to deploy them to DC

Donald Trump’s administration has put both the National Guard and everyday Americans at risk by forcing them to occupy our cities.

We hope that everyone involved is ok and makes a swift recovery.

This hairdo is definitely giving Trump vibes…
This hairdo doesn't just help male pheasants woo females--it also obscures their vision, making them more vulnerable to predators. Fun story at @science.org
Love practically makes these birds go blind
Unusually obstructive plumage compromises the vision of two types of pheasants—a first in birds

Hearing news that Carl Dieffenbach, the Director of the Division of AIDS at #NIH (NIAID), has been removed from his position because he was "not aligned with HHS/OMB."

Russell Vought continues to remove great scientists as part of the Project 2025 mission to politicize and destroy NIH.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

Turning the military on citizens.

Attempting to rig elections.

Toying with the idea of declaring martial law.

Attacking political opponents and calling for their executions.

If this were happening in another country, what would you call it?

How awful. This is outright health disinformation, lying to the American people. Not only is there massive evidence showing no link between vaccines & autism, there’s not even a plausible mechanism based on what we’ve learned about the genetics of autism, some environmental exposures in pregnancy
HEADS UP: CDC website now officially asserts that vaccines may cause autism.“Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” Also says the “vaccines do not cause autism” header remains b/c of an agreement with Cassidy.

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

The message behind “quiet, piggy” was not subtle.
I decide who speaks. I decide what truth is. I decide whose pain persists and whose gets erased. I decide what women are allowed to ask me. I decide which crimes survive and which get swallowed in smoke.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

This is something I need to work on…
🔥 At conferences, who asks the questions shapes who gets seen. Across 24 ID&CM meetings, women were 55% of delegates but asked 36% of questions.
💬 When women moderate or speak first, others follow.
Let’s change the pattern
