Please support if you can; RT if you don’t mind
The TRiiBE is helping everyone understand what's going on with ICE in Chicago and the surrounding areas. Every day, they gather video from journalists and rapid response groups to show us the latest.

If you can, throw them a few bucks?

In our latest, we discuss a disturbing set of arguments that evidence of famine in Gaza—and genocide deaths themselves—can be invalidated by showing that the victims had “pre-existing conditions” or “underlying health conditions”

It will continue to be (and already is) easy to deceive a large number of people around us, as all they need to do is relate to some aspect of the identity of those who will sell them out or harm them. Many are marching right into endless excuses with no thought behind it.

People are online talking about some of the most powerful politicians in the world like they're a cousin who works at a local store, just because they share race, gender, etc with them. You don't have to completely discard identity, but it doesn't automatically indicate integrity.

The idea of representation has really fried some people's understanding of the world around them when they're describing powerful politicians like disempowered family members who deserve unwavering support because of identity traits.

“Overemphasizing law is about returning to a normal where the screams were more easily muffled, distant, and ignorable for many.”
Legal forms of resistance and litigation strategies aren't the only ways to fight. Thinking so misrepresents the past and weakens the present. It also reveals a strong naivete about the supposed objectivity of oppressive laws. I wrote about it for @prismreports.org. prismreports.org/2025/04/29/t...
Another way out: Doing what’s right isn't all about what’s legal
Overemphasizing what’s legal and illegal is about returning to a normal where the screams were more easily muffled, distant, and ignorable for many

this is so???? my goodness. “you’re not being very nice…” and nice is code for…
This exchange is so very telling.

Trump repeatedly claims the photoshopped MS-13 on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's knuckles is real, Terry Moran keeps telling him it isn't, prompting Trump to say this:

"I never heard of you. I picked you. You’re not being very nice. He had MS-13 tattooed... Just say yes!"

When it comes to whiteness, things have shifted over time. The Trump Administration represents another change with former US allies and the standard procedure of colonial powers having to adjust to the latest fascism. I wrote about why a lot of this was inevitable. prismreports.org/2025/03/24/w...

Instead of longing to return to a past version of the world that gave us white supremacy, we should push to kill it at its roots

there are so many awful things happening, and something in particular that I can’t get out of my mind is the man who was executed by firing squad ‘volunteers’ in sc because the state wouldn’t answer his questions about if the iv drugs would’ve been expired/where they came from.
