Ghost pipes from White Mountain National Forest. Monotropia uniflora. Also called corpse flower. Emily Dickinson’s favorite flower. No sun, no photosynthesis. Doubly parasitic (or resourceful); lives off fungi that live off tree roots. A flower that “could not see to see.”
