I use Firefox on my Windows PC, Arc on my Mac and Safari on my iPhone. Is there something that will keep bookmarks in sync between them?

Cloudflare outage on November 18, 2025
Cloudflare suffered a service outage on November 18, 2025. The outage was triggered by a bug in generation logic for a Bot Management feature file causing many Cloudflare services to be affected.

Today I am stepping down from my role as the CEO of #mastodon. Though this has been in the works for a while, I can't say I've fully processed how I feel about it. There is a bittersweet part to it, and I think I will miss it, but it also felt necessary. It feels like a goodbye, but it isn't—I […]

Definitely interested in the Steam Frame as a potential replacement for my Valve Index but I have questions. Is the eye tracking only for the foveated rendering or is it exposed for games (VRChat). Do the controllers really take AA batteries with only 40 hours battery life? No USB-C port for […]

What’s the difference between „abspielen“ and „wiedergeben“? I think the both vaguely mean „to play“. If I finish an episode of something, the button to play the next one is „Nächste Folge abspielen“ but on the home page if I’m browsing my available shows I get a button like „S4 F8 wiedergeben“ […]

IKEA‘s new Matter range is even cheaper than their existing ZigBee range. I don’t understand how that’s even possible, but I’m here for it. https://www.wired.com/story/ikeas-smart-home-reset-goes-back-to-basics/
Ikea's Smart Home Reset Goes Back to Basics
Ikea’s new 21-product series of bulbs, sensors, and remotes is dirt cheap, idiot-proof, Matter-ready, and designed to work with everything. But it's still years from the promised house of the future.

There is a bug with the iOS 26.1 Simulator which results in a ReportCrash process running endlessly on your mac at 60-100% CPU.

This appears to be caused the service which renders the wallpaper on the simulator (MercuryPosterExtension) crashing endlessly. This is evident as well by the fact the […]

A long time ago someone somewhere on the internet introduced me to the “Don't put it down, put it away" mantra and now this is something I have to use on myself on a daily basis. It's particularly valuable when I arrive home as I have a habit of just dropping everything I'm holding including my […]

It's 2025 and I still have to wrap a SFSafariViewController in a UIViewControllerRepresentable to use it in SwiftUI. Why does no method exist to open a safari view in SwiftUI? What am I missing? I do not want to roll my own web view. #iosdev

Ha, a few weeks back when people spotted that lifetime subscription had gone free we all thought it was a bug. Turns out it was prepping for this.

Apple: We've added a new API in Xcode 26 and it's backported all the way to iOS 17!
Me: Oh yay, very useful. *uses API*
Apple: Lol btw that crashes on iOS 18, oopsie!!!

Looking at you, navigationLinkIndicatorVisibility. (FB20196754)

Congratulations to Heathrow Terminal 5 drop-off website for being the first website I've seen that showed the “Pay with Apple Pay" button in a non-safari browser so I could scan it with my phone and complete payment on there. Really wish more websites would update to adopt this.

Are there native apps that connect to JIRA? And if so are there any good ones? I actively avoid raising tickets at work because the UI is so slow and clunky it is _painful_. I spend more time navigating UI and watching things load. If I can find a faster way of filling out a form to put a ticket […]

Mobile devs, what platform/system are you using for localisation/internationalisation? We were trying to use Lokalise but it doesn't support modern translation files from Xcode so it's a non-starter for us. #iosdev

Regression: Used to be able to say “Siri where are my keys?" to my HomePod and my AirTag on my keys would start beeping. Now Siri tells me it can't help me with that accessory and that I should open the FindMy app. What gives? This was pretty much the only thing I still used my HomePods for…

This alert on iOS 26 kind of annoyed me. End users should not have to understand multitasking and the OS should be taking care of closing app. This just encourages that behaviour of users swiping away all their apps in the app switcher.

I have a total boner over Fairphone's detailed specifications of their USB cable. This is the first cable manufacturer I've ever seen list this stuff. It's so rare that I literally own a cable tester so I can extract this data myself.

Now if they could make this […]

Good: iOS 26 now automatically detects orders from emails and adds them to the tracked orders in Wallet

Bad: It only ever detects “order placed”. Despite getting dispatch and delivered emails, it never seems to detect them or match them up. So, for now largely a useless feature.

I do think iOS 26 does a good job of picking photos and laying out the background. Particularly enjoying this one.
