They make documentation requirements cumbersome (stick) while expecting a quick turnaround, then dangle AI (carrot) in front of us.
When clinical writing is already no fun and losing meaning, suddenly AI doesn't seem so bad at all.
That's how humans are "writing" ourselves out of existence.

She was a guide and teacher for so many.
I had the privilege of going to a 10-day retreat with her just after 9/11 when everything had changed.
She taught about The Great Turning and The Work that Reconnects.

To remain human is to refuse to dehumanize others. These times call for it.
If you’re an American should watch the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown ep on Iran. A deeply humanizing look at a country full of people just like you and me. I watched it after Anthony died and it moved in ways that are hard to relay. I also immediately ran out to try kabob koobideh and tahdig.

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles
Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.

And there you have it. ICE didn't target migrant workers in Kristi Noem's farms or Sarah Huckabee Sanders' meatpacking plants because they wanted to create a riot in LA as a pretext to declaring martial law. They don't care about undocumented migrants, they only care about controlling US citizens.
