“It is increasingly indefensible for news coverage of climate change not to make it clear that this crisis is driven by very specific human activities – primarily burning fossil fuels. And in second place is food, agriculture, forestry.”

We often think of the courage of the Tank Man and how the long row of tanks stopped for him, but some of the graphic photos from Tiananmen Square show protesters who were run over by tanks and their mangled bodies and bicycles.

Watch this and wait for it:

Eugenics undergirds all of American society and it shouldn’t have taken all this for y’all to realize that ableism is applied not just to disabled people.

Ableism is what makes fascism work, not only do y’all not look in disabled people’s directions, but you will cheer

Furious EPA workers with AFGE Local 704 are rallying against the Trump/Musk evisceration of the federal workforce targeting new hires. Recently fired employees include those responsible for monitoring air & water quality.

Note this is unfortunately routine practice already--its called the foster care system. We remove more children from their families than any country on earth and 90% of them are victims of poverty, not abuse or violence. What Kennedy is calling for is the expansion of a system that already exists.
Even the most disturbing RFK Jr. headline always manages to have a detail inside creepier than you could have imagined. I’m sorry, did you just say Black kids should have a chance to get “re-parented”???? Gift link wapo.st/4hW2xGI

Of the 50 hardest-hit schools on this list, 32% are in states that voted for Trump. Losses range from $36.2 to $129.7M—per school.

We can organize around that. Electeds, even Republicans, don’t want mass layoffs in their districts.

(NB: If you reply by celebrating people’s pain, I’ll block you.)

Hospitals that can afford Super Bowl ads shouldn’t be sending their patients to collections
So what do my HCW friends think about NYU Langone spending millions of dollars in the Super Bowl for an ad instead of say paying more to their workers or buy new equipment?
Good use of resources? 🤔

A common theme of these Super Bowl ads has been “unity” and “easing divisions”, which I guess sounds nice and is what I suppose corporations are hoping for, but no. They’re attacking trans kids, demonizing immigrants, banning books, tearing up the constitution… it’s not time to “come together”

Look, we tried to warn people. At this point, the only way out is through. Trump will precipitate a collapse and only then can we rebuild towards a better future. Our goal is to minimize the number of people we lose along the way. Build community, help others. Resilience is all we have.
