Hi!

I'm Kim Steiner, and I'm a Cat Shaped designer! I have a focus in Level Design, but due to the Industry being what it is and a HEAVY dose of ADHD, I am very much a generalist.

I've been in the Industry for almost 18 years, and I've gotten to work on a ton of cool games with super cool people.

My kid wouldn't latch and 100% would have died without formula you fucking brainworm host.

There's a reason infant mortality dropped off a fucking cliff when formula became a thing.
RFK Jr: "All of the ingenuity of corporate America has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition and all the qualities that we want to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast."

"recap your 2025 media consumption" brand-engagement moments feel wholesome to me in the same way a veggie-flavored chip tastes more wholesome than bbq chips

which is to say, not at all. we talk about ultra-processed foods, but can we talk about ultra-processed memories? ultra-processed identity?

This event showcases many fun games that capture the silly, hectic experience of having the gang altogether. Take a look! https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/daedalic/sale/fourisaparty2025

hmmm so let's pretend I surveyed 150+ game designers about their personally most influential games, and aggregated it, which created a list that's actually quite interesting/surprising... I'm already talking to Game Developer. who else would be interested in seeing this list do you think?

I'm 100 pages away from hitting my reading goal for the year and y'all have no idea how proud of myself I am for fighting for this hobby of mine.

I lost it for years and now I've dug it out and spent enough time with it to feel good about it again.

Ask yourself if kids prefer toys, or stores. Games from a generation ago were allowed to be toys. Games today are forced to be stores.

while i am always looking for a charitable take on a bad situation, as i believe strongly in hanlon's razor, there's another principle at play:

actions indistinguishable from malice in their effects are indistinguishable from malice in their morality.
To be very clear: Kennedy's team is messing with a vaccine which has led to a 99 percent drop in the incidence of hepatitis B, which kills, early and painfully, 25 percent of the children who get it.

It's got less spyware. It doesn't have a subscription. It has buttons. It generally works and if not is easier to repair. It's not as easy to get hacked. They don't get constant pop ups and ads.

They're fucking right too. Tech has just become rent seeking bloatware.

I'm reading "I'm Glad My Mom's Dead." And suddenly having a very vivid memory of watching some movie as a kid where the mom goes completely batshit and thinking "why would anyone want to watch a movie of this? My mom does this shit and it's not interesting or funny."

Poor kid Kim didn't know.

The kid still doesn't fucking have dinner and now I gotta make it. Thanks for fucking nothing!
