Archaeologist. I'm just me. Hobbies include music, reading, writing, watching movies/anime, staring at delicious art, VRChat, gaming, hiking, and cruising. If anyone wants to talk, I'm here.
Good transportation can really make the difference between a successful archaeological survey or a really long pit stop.

I was honored that the PI let me drive some of the trucks. These roads were some of the gnarliest that I've ever encountered in the southwest. I doubt some were even roads! 🤠

Any risk I've taken in archaeology has been a calculated, but cautious, risk.

However, there are certain situations I do not want anyone following me. This is one of those situations where it probably would've been better to visit a site on a sunny day.

Life as a field worker is difficult.

Despite the obstacles, I can say that spending time out there in the desert really shaped me into the person I am today. I'm not exactly confident in myself as a person, but I am very confident in my abilities as an archaeologist.

Plus, the views are awesome. 🤠

One thing I do enjoy about archaeological surveys is how many places you get to see that you normally wouldn't.

Of course, seeing these places comes with their own hazards, including the possible breakage of a cliff face while you're climbing it to see a cave.

Stay safe out there, my friends! 🤠

Alrighty, that's enough reposting.

Have this video of me trying to trowel around some mesquite roots during one of my excavations! 😀

It was painful! 😀

However, there are standards for archaeological excavation, and they must be followed. So, alas, this is the way.

Can't wait to dig again! 🤠

Some trowel ASMR for your troubles.

This is footage of me excavating one of the multi-room pueblo floors and walls. Wattle and daub techniques are recorded to exist in the southwest, but the pueblo was an evolution in sedentism. Adobe bricks with mortar were the preferred method of construction.
