Full moon, and only three candidates for the three seats on both school board and town council. Fortunately all of them are endorsed by my local pape. We're just going to keep on keeping on it looks like here in the Paris of the Piedmont.

I'm just sitting in my car, with the seat buckle still on, listening to the pattering rain on the roof. I have returned from getting my meds refilled, which had run out last week. And I'm just trying to hold on to my last shreds of sanity. And I miss my goddamn dad #whatkindofadayhasitbeen

Spent my Saturday evening with a dear friend, camping at Jordan Lake. It took the edge off the last few weeks, and buoyed me for a stretch. I tried hammock camping and... LOVED IT! Slept like an absolute baby.

Last night, after a dinner of ramen and lentils, I was relaxing on my stool in front of the shelter when I caught a substantial shadow drop down out of the corner of my eye. I got out of the way just in time to see an orb weaver (the size of my THUMB) attach another anchor point to my stool!

Amidst the chaos of the weekend, we did successfully implement a new screentime-earning paradigm for the boy, I helped him design his Ravenfolk (kenku) bard in @titancraft.com , and we saw Superman at the Lumina. Folks, I am wrung the fuck out #parenting

Carolina summer means pop-up evening thunderstorms. On Wednesday I drove home to see the leading edge of that evening's blow-through, just wild in terms of sculpted cloudscape fluid dynamics.

Last night I made shin ramen black for dinner at the campsite, but I added some sloppy jane (ground turkey) from Fridays lunch at work and it turned into a thick and hearty stew. This morning it was oatmeal with the remnant of a bag of trail mix, resulting in a delicious sludgy chocolatey paste.

Pollen levels are literally at an all time high in central NC. So I guess this shouldn't be a surprising sight. But the phenomenon still astounded me, driving north yesterday, engulfed for multiple hours in a vast, pulsing cloud of yellow.

It's been a busy couple of days. Today takes the cake, though: I caught my first ✨Galarian Zapdos✨! 30+ rare candy sunk into Roar of Time and a solid hour on a new route. Finally caught it after 11 excellent, 7 regular, and one knockback. There is no substitute for effort. #pokemonGO #shiny
