Trump's second demand, the increased water flow, really doesn't sound that bad at first.
However, what he's proposing is not nearly as simple as he's making it seem. To my understanding, it's basically a second impossible condition

Even if I supported a VoterID policy entirely, I'd be against this. Do you have any idea how long it takes a state legislature to write, propose, debate, amend, vote, and pass ANY legislation? you can't just do it in a day. It can take months.

We're tying natural disaster aid to legislation??

I think Voter ID laws are fine in most countries, but ONLY because they have a system with a national ID that's free to everyone. We do not have that here, and just getting to the secretary of state is difficult in some places(the nearest one in my hometown is 8 miles away, and we're not even rural)

Before allowing aid into the state, Trump wants "Voter ID, so that the people have a chance to vote"

Voter ID laws, in my opinion, are harmful because it takes away the right to vote for anyone without a driver's license. In a city like LA, that's a lot of people, mostly poorer people of course

are you gonna make a playlist of these
January 23, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Yes I know Trump isn't a lawyer but the point stands even more so for republicans because they desperately need to appeal to the blue collar voter base so they do stupid stunts like the garbage truck thing
