Indeed, it has some minor appeal to liberals who don't truly understand guns but sets the rural and conservative areas on edge in a way that is going to be hard to bring back and create a better political dialogue.

deeply blue, western riding feel attacked and alienated. This issue alone could be a driving factor for rising right wing maple MAGA in Canada and is not the hill we need to die on. All we need is the previous laws to be properly enforced.

I am a left wing gun owner living in a deeply blue riding. Gun laws prior to Trudeau were sufficient. Any pistol or automatic rifle had severe restrictions and cannot be legally carried outside the house unless heading directly to the gun range. The new laws do little to increase safety but make...

That's a hilarious response too, as a (Canadian) government employee, I don't think any of my colleagues are going to be able to switch to high paying manufacturing jobs easily. We are in the jobs we are in because its a professional service job.

As Canadian and BC resident, our premier has removed only red state liquor from the BCLiquor stores. With the Democrats fighting this regime with *checks notes* pink and ping pong paddles, it should probably be like Ontario and all American alcohol off the shelves. Elbows up.

As a Canadian, it's quite concerning and reminds of times when Trump would disparage our leaders and insult them but then praise Putin and other dictators. And it's all coming back again but worse.

I recently became active on bluesky, not posting yet but following the discussions. I got a few starter packs added and then noticed immediately a bunch of similar no-content followers. I must look like a bot too though as this is my first post.
