Tackling this has been set as a challenge to schools from the government, using the subtle art of fines. Causes are complicated though and often require deeper intervention, which requires funding, which isn't available so.....

I like live radio because I find myself listening to things I wouldn't pick from a menu, and then become enriched as a result.
But the schedules feel like podcast menus at the moment so I listen less, even to the programmes I enjoy.

I've always thought the same and don't disagree but I've always paid in principle for the radio; the world service, the programmes where I'm learning or inspired. Current schedules seem flooded with repeats of journos discussing being journos, with bonus podcasts of the same...
