Oh my goodness, your Coco looks like my Odin. I had to do a double take.

Happy holidays to you and Coco. 🐾🐾🐾

I love a good fall. 😂

Born and raised in the Midwest. We are expecting 6-8 in. on Saturday and 2 in. on Sunday.

This will be me:

I finished Positive Obsession: The Life and Times of Octavia E. Butler about a month ago, so I am definitely looking forward to reading this article.

Yes!!! I finished Black in Blues, (Imani Perry) a week ago and I am still gripped by it. I’ve gone down rabbit hole after rabbit hole. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

It was my first time growing sweet potatoes and it was quite the learning experience. Rabbits eating the vines, burrowing in the bed, grubs, and the beat goes on…Lessons for next season. 🙂

I visited The Legacy Museum over the summer. I am definitely going to have to get back there to see this new installation and hopefully, I’ll be able to stay at the hotel/Convening Center that was under construction when I was there.

I finally got a chance to listen to #BlackInBlues …finished a few days ago and this book still has a major grip on me. I am so glad I saw it posted here. Thank you!

Seeing your post is a reminder to revisit this very important book.

I was out searching for signs of life in the garden after replenishing a few bird feeders. Last week, the garden was completely covered in snow w/20° temps and this week a wee bit of warmth and an abundance of sunshine. ☀️✨

You’re welcome. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Many deep dives on this one, especially to search for the art installations mentioned. I shared a few on my page today.

My poor book is so tattered and the pages are yellowed.

It’s been a long time, but I remember this being an excellent read.

Happy Reading!

“You see? Blue is a portal. Our ancestors have worked so hard from the other side to keep us going; this is how we tend to them in return.”
-Imani Perry, Black in Blues: How a Color Tells the Story of My People

Well worth the wait, beautifully narrated. I’m not ready to surrender this book.

Your post has me revisiting my very small collection this morning. I have some African bloodstones, but I have no idea where they are. I am going to blame it on my postmenopausal brain. 🤷🏾‍♀️🙂

Those are real pretty. I 🫶🏾 rocks.

I have been known to collect a few in my travels and add them to the garden. This is one of my favorites. 🙂

I had so many of these in the garden this summer. I hope they return.

Listen, the King of Asgard don’t give a damn about your daylight or your saving time. Schedules must be adhered to. Still waiting on the extra hour, cause sleep don’t come easy and I’m going down. Had us out here looking like ashy chocolate at 6 in the morning, on this brisk fall day.

Finally!!! I have been waiting for this book since forever-ever (Apr. 27🤭). The wait for Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert was long too, (very entertaining BTW) but this is the longest wait to date. Please believe, I am going to take my sweet time and savor every word!

“Gore Vidal called them ‘the four most beautiful words in the English language’:

‘I told you so.’

I disagree, I don't think they're beautiful, and I wish I had no cause to say them.”

-Kamala Harris, 107 Days

She’s so gracious. *I* am not!
