It was a full year after that before I sold another story, and that original novella is still sitting in my unpublished pile almost 10 years later bc it was extremely niche. It sucks. Sometimes it just be like that. 🫂

If it makes you feel any better, the thing that was supposed to be my first ever professional publication had the entire project cancelled right after it was announced and contracts signed. So, I had already told everyone and then it didn’t happen. 1/2
