Talking about history, books, and baked goods!
She/her/hers.

Honored to have been recognized by UTK for extraordinary teaching! This is bittersweet, since I won't be teaching next year, but I look forward to ending the year with some of my favorite topics — tobacco and colonialism, then Moundbuilders and Pseudoarch Bingo next week!

It's #fieldworkfriday! Over the summer of 2024, I worked with the Overfield Tavern Museum in Troy, Ohio to run a field school through UTK.

The Overfield Tavern is the oldest building in Troy. When it was built, it also served as the town courthouse and a communal gathering space.

It's #FieldworkFriday! To celebrate, here is the cat who kept visiting the Overfield Tavern during our field school this summer. The students named him Plumbbob and he has excellent whiskers.
