The internet: “Latinx is made up by English speakers, no one actually says that”

Meanwhile, all over Buenos Aires:

At that point you only need PA (19) and one or two other swing states like AZ (11), MI (15), NV (6), or WI (10), all of which Biden won in 2020. Not to mention the hilarity of watching them contend with a map that looks like this, given how they don't comprehend that land doesn't vote. (3/3)

Taking out your frustration on automated text spam is pointless but so is everything else it seems 🤷‍♀️

I can't stop thinking about Mario Savio, one of the leaders of the 1960s Free Speech Movement, and the famous speech he gave on the steps of Sproul Hall at UC Berkeley.

Where are our leaders now? Who will throw themselves upon the gears, upon the wheels?

The TOS also states it’s on the user to verify they have permission to input materials. Students don’t have permission by default to input course materials to ChatGPT, which was the whole point of my post in the first place.

LLMs don’t “store” data in general, as they are not databases in the traditional sense. Instead inputs are used to train the model. The TOS says the user retains ownership of their content, but they only assign the user the right to the model’s output - not their input’s contributions to the model.

Unless you go into your settings and opt out, OpenAI’s Terms of Service states they will use your input for training. The distinction between “retain” and “train” is functionally meaningless when the model *is* the data.

I actually checked out this anthology of #flute #music because it was edited by my flute teacher from Vassar, John Solum. Two of the pieces are dedicated to him (also one is by a Vassar music faculty member).

that's only the tip of the iceberg; the notation for this piece is absolutely wild

Made my ritual pilgrimage to the local used bookstore. Mom asks: “are they for you or for work?”
“…yes?”
