Ok, picked up a bottle of Plymouth Sloe Gin (a big upgrade over my previous bottle), and we’re on! Surprisingly light cocktail. Bright and refreshing, though almost neutral in flavor. Might do an absinthe spray wash in the glass next time to try and get more anise character.

Turns out the mediocre sloe gin I have in my cabinet is actually the mediocre sloe gin I HAD in my cabinet. Alas, it will have to wait.
