I've been trying to do more mending and have now fixed 2 kids' pants, 1 of my husband's shirts, and darned a hole in one of my socks. Will the repairs hold? Only time will tell.

(I hope so. I hope they're ugly but functional)

A pic of my sad boy looking towards the window.

Am I crying? Yes, I'm crying.

This is every morning. School starts in 15 min. He needs to finish getting ready. It will take 5 minutes to get in the car and 5 minutes to get to school.

Aurora borealis! Kid 2 got scared of the not-normal red sky, so we didn't stick around long enough for our eyes to properly adjust. Though it does look redder in the photo (night sight mode on my phone), the sky definitely had a maroon tint. Or magenta. I am bad at color names.

Behold! The first thing I've made with fingering yarn! A washcloth! The flexee loom worked great, but I messed up on binding it off, so had to take my project off the yarn and use a tiny crochet hook to pick up dropped stitches, put it on size 2 knitting needles, and then bind it off.

I wanted to share the costumes I made for my kids, so here is a photo of my kids, with the background scribbled out per my husband's request.

2 ghosts with large black eyes and large black mouths.

There are a ton of suds. But luckily, since my washer has a load sensor and thus didn't fill the basin entirely with water, it's not overflowing.

I guess I can still draw if I have a model and time. Copied from a picture I found online.

(I also did my right-hand for fun after my brother mentioned drawing with his non-dominant hand)

Either the reporters in this fictional newspaper are terrible at their job, or I am not good with predicting headliner stories, but no way is a murder a smaller story than an accidental house fire.

Also, who still had paper newspapers delivered in 2017? It was already the digital age by then.

I still have to mend the rest of this pair of shorts (it's literally falling apart at the seams, but I love them. They're so comfy), but I have successfully made my pocket a pocket again instead of a tunnel (which I constantly dropped my phone through).

I have started making a cotton washcloth with my new adjustable fine gauge loom. My goodness, I forgot how slow knitting in any form is, doubly or triply slow with thinner yarns.

But also, I may actually make socks now. It shouldn't be too hard to convert patterns or find them for looms.

My husband is gonna see this and I want to say: My Love, I love you.

BUT he doesn't know how to load a dishwasher to its fullest extent, to make the most effective use of its space so that there are fewer left over.

I just...

Sigh.

The big white bowl is from this morning.

We bought some shelves for our storage room since they tore out our other shelves post-flood (we wanted them to so we could fit more than a size 10 can on a shelf). But the shelves are metal grating, and you have to balance things just right.

I was gonna buy liners, but remembered we have boxes.

Looking on Amazon, I found all these choices. The most expensive was a single $13 gown. All the others were 3-packs or 4-packs for around $20-25.

So the church can't even claim it's going for just barely production cost. I know Amazon is lots of sweatshop stuff, but so is church garments.

I have to add an amendment: it does look like there are buttons at the shoulders. But they're so worried about the CGI MANNEQUIN WITH GRAY "SKIN" being immodest that there's a CGI shirt under it and I can't tell where fabric and skin would be in other photos.

The cotton jersey is also one of the scratchiest garment fabrics you can get, only to be outdone by the mesh garments. I do not envy anyone wearing that, especially because you can infer they're medically fragile and may have delicate skin.

Also, this has no other medical care necessary holes.

Every so often, I check the LDS store's site to see if the sleeveless g's are available. This showed up in there today, and holy crap: look at that price! $20 for a bedsheet toga with sleeve holes that ties on the side.

The next highest price item is a one-piece g at just under $10/pair.

Today for my workout I walked the dog. It rained yesterday/last night, so Rascal had to stop and sniff all the fun scents. So I did a lot of marching in place to keep my heart rate up. We took so long that I can't go to the gym to do weights.

But Rascal was sooo happy outside. So it's worth it.

The last time I wore a sleeveless shirt by itself just because when I was around 3 or 5. We were told that we shouldn't wear immodest clothes because we could tempt men and boys.

Sleeveless LDS garments are coming, and so I altered my favorite tie dye T-shirt into sleeveless.

This is immodest?

Here's a vid of the wasp crawling around in the lawn. It tried to hide from me each time I shifted. Which made me much less worried about it stinging me.

I was outside cleaning up some toys my kids left out when I saw this big critter in our overgrown clover patch. I then spent way too long trying to get the perfect shot with my phone and also my DSLR (haven't had time to upload them. Maybe I'll remember later). Reverse image says tarantula wasp.

I'm pivoting from fantasy to light sci-fi with "The Kaiju Preservation Society" by John Scalzi. I gave this to my husband a Christmas or two ago and he hasn't read it yet. I think his "first read" dibs have expired.

Alright, the next book I'm reading is Witchy Eye by D. J. Butler. Ch.1: American folk magic, especially Appalachian folk magic, is real, the U.S. never formed but instead there's an empire, and several men from different religious factions are after Sarah, a young woman w/one bad eye. #booksky

I should've done a before and after photo for this.

Oh my gosh we have way too much stuff.

I threw away games that are broken and with missing pieces. We've only bought a few of these. The rest are gifts from grandparents/aunts/uncles.
