Also, ACMI was screening Satoshi Kon's "Paprika" tonight, so I went to see it.
Long-time fan -- but literally the only person I've ever discussed Kon movies with was April Tyack
After having just presented our last paper together at CHI in Japan, this was an oddly meaningful coincidence.

After visiting Mori Art Museum in Tokyo last week, went to see ACMI in Melbourne. What an amazing surprise to see the (ACMI-commissioned) sequel to Ayoung Kim's Delivery Dancer -- that I had just seen in Tokyo!

Post-#chi2025, v much enjoyed the "Machine Love" exhibition at the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi. Behold some pics/vids (just a fraction of the entire exhibit):

As per usual, I watched some random scary movies on the flight (also Anora, which was v good). The description for Speak No Evil is a wild understatement though. Was not ready for Danish "Funny Games" (spoiler ig?)

Can't believe I only found this now. This is exactly the sort of research I'd like to see more of: Articulating what HCI can learn from games -- beyond what makes interfaces "fun"
Also, Clock Tower (1995, SFC) in a CHI paper!!
Interface Cues about Agent Visual Perception

Don't usually care for my papers' download numbers and don't fully trust the ACM metrics. But hey, I'm v proud of this one and it would've annoyed April to see me brag about it.
1000 downloads on ACM DL. let's gooo!
(pls also actually read the paper. it's pretty good)

Just read an editorial from a 2007 IwC special issue on "HCI issues in games". And, uh... yikes...
(Checked the Kücklich text, and it doesn't make any claims about surgery or gender)
