#ModWrite YayHoo! think I may have finished the last chapter of my flower book. It is currently 99,330 words, and lacks half an intro, a conclusion, acknowledgements, and perhaps a couple of tabular appendices. There's a lot of revision to do now. But I feel kind of celebratory.

working on the last flower for the last book in the last chapter of my book on flowers in Virginia Woolf. soon i will begin a last edit of the entire MS and will begin asking folks to read a chapter for me.

so, today i finished doing a comparative analysis of flowers in the ETS of Pointz Hall. and Eco-woolfians--> there is great stuff in here! Whole meditative merger of natural and human not included in published text.

Have a solid draft of Chap 8 on The Years & 3Guineas printed out and am deep into Chap 9 on Roger Fry, Sketch of the Past and Between the Acts. Have finished poppies in Roger and now taking a break to focus and condense section on flowers in Sketch. Wrote 15 pp on BTA last year. getting close!

getting ready for another post op cataract appt. hoping for prescription for new glasses. eyes are fine but far vision needs glasses. can't read street signs til they are 20 feet away; small print tv is a guessing game. fortunately i can see to read and write out of my left eye wi old glasses.

15 minutes earlier it was pouring rain wi a 20 mph wind, but my determination to walk anyway was rewarded wi this glimpse of glory.

first cataract surgery apparently successful. hardest part was getting up so early. still groggy and blurry but no pain. taking the day off to lounge in bed listening to audible and interminable banging next door.

pastel striations on Alki tonight. I wrote two more solid pages on flowers in The Waves and have cautious hopes for finishing the chapter tomorrow.
