Whoever wrote this story with its idiotic framing and whoever concocted that 💩 headline and allowed this trash to get published should be fired and banned from every newsroom in the world

Brian Thompson is a mass murderer. Full stop. He is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people, and that's probably a conservative estimate. He can rest in piss and rot in hell.

I despise America's for-profit healthcare system. I despise the insurance companies that make a killing off of it, metaphorically and literally. I despise all of the health insurance execs who leech off the misfortune of others. 5/

Even after all that arguing, the insurance company still refused to pay the anesthesiologist's full fee. The anesthesiologist waived the remainder of it.

We were lucky. Many people are not.

Instead of fully recuperating, my mom spent countless hours stressing over these massive bills. Insurance co. eventually paid assistant surgeon's fee after he sent the insurance company a letter explaining that this surgery required an assistant surgeon, either by hospital policy or by CA law. 3/

After the surgery, my mom spent hours on the phone arguing with the insurance company because 1. they refused to pay for the assistant surgeon's fee, claiming he was unnecessary for the surgery and 2. they refused to pay the anesthesiologist's full fee because they claimed it was too much. 2/

Been doing this for years on every social media platform I’ve been on. And IRL too. It’s great!

This is all to say…

1. I firmly believe every American should be conscripted into working customer service for a certain period of time. Like military service but worse!

2. People suck.

3. Treat service employees well. It’s not that hard if you’re not a raging jerkwad

I’ve worked customer service. I can confidently say that the customer is not always right. In fact, I’m pretty sure the customer is wrong ~90% of the time. Unless you’re dealing with Spectrum. Then your complaint is almost certainly valid.

The wife eventually shushes the overgrown baby she’s married to and politely says to the cashier, “We’ll take it.” Cashier is shaken but stoic and rings the dude up. I wanted to hug her but I just said, “I’m sorry you have to deal with customers like that.”

The cashier tries to explain that this is just what they’re trained to say when someone asks the price of an item. His wife is shooting him daggers out of her eyes. I’m wondering how many times a day she has to deal with this.
