Always think it's important to point out that our healthcare isn't free, it's free at the point of use - we all pay for it through a variety of taxes. A lot of people don't realise this and it helps counter the (US, usually) narrative of 'who'll pay for it?!''. We all will, we all do.
Average healthcare costs in the US:
Giving birth? $18,000
Cancer treatment? $150,000
One month ICU stay? Between 30k and 150k.
That’s not including copays, deductibles, interest and all the other hoops you have to jump through.
Cost in Canada? $0.
Cost in the UK? $0.
Cost in Australia? $0.

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

That final point is absolutely crucial.

Oh, fuck off, Justin Webb.
"Despite all of the discussion of pension age raising you are saying..."
Get in the fucking sea. Stop blaming the victims.
It is not the WASPI women's fault for not being aware of "all the discussion", it is for the government to tell people. They didn't.

Justin Webb: what has Robbie Gibb done?
I don't know, but Lisa Nandy told parliament yesterday that whatever he has done, it doesn't meet the legal threshold to sack him.
Also, it's not enough to be above reproach. You have to be perceived as above reproach. Gibb fails that test.

Fun fact: Today is the 1 year anniversary of Farage's foreign national girlfriend Ferrari buying his house. With unexplained wealth. That should be investigated...

If BBC News was a hotbed of left-wing wokery producing *systemically* biased coverage Jeremy Corbyn may well have been elected Prime Minister in 2019.
It’s not. He wasn’t.
And we got Boris Johnson instead.

UKs already losing an estimated £100bn annually in GDP as a result of Brexit, equivalent to c.£40bn in taxes into the exchequer every year
Instead of making the argument to reverse this catastrophe, the Labour govt is cutting welfare for the old & the disabled, & reducing funds for public services

John Caudwell, "Trump calls it liberation day, I call it doomsday"
"Without doubt America is going to head towards recession"
"Prices increase, inflation through the roof"
"How will anyone ever trust America again?"
10% tariff = 0.3% hit to GDP
Brexit = 5% hit to GDP
The UK's mess is huge

Hypnotism isn't "real". It's the power of suggestion, if you don't want to do what the hypnotist you can't be made to. Hypnotism requires a willing subject.
More likely the hypnotism here was a ruse for drugging.

Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)
