Indiehacker who’s too lazy to build and too shy to launch. Working on changing both.
Also thinking and writing about 🧠psychology and 💰business.

Thoughts my own.
I still hate marketing so I thought I‘d read about it. Started with „Ogilvy on advertising“.

A little dated, because it was written in the era of print, but many thoughts have stood the test of time.

Now I don’t know what to read next if I want to learn more about marketing.

Any suggestions?

Going to deploy my landing page tomorrow, I think. Vercel's always been my go-to for free deployment.

Any other providers that you prefer?

Why/why not?

Works on my machine :D

openpanel.dev

And this is really me being genuinely curious. I haven’t tried openpanel yet and am not linked to them in any way. But I AM very interested in privacy-friendly analytics.

I just gave AstroJS a shot and really like the simplicity of the thing, plus the quality of available templates.
For me, who is absolute rubbish at design, this is heaven!

And also integrates nicely with Sveltekit, which I am just trying out.

MVP will be shipped soon!

Very first, very rough draft of makemedothis.com.

Thoughts? Does anybody actually need this?

Just had the weirdest experience with Tailwind.

I wanted to get a gradient on my text because all the cool kids seem to be doing this.

And I just couldn't get it to work with Tailwind. I asked Claude and everything. Custom CSS works fine.

Micro targeting 5x more effective than traditional ad campaigns in simulations. IRL effectiveness depends on more factors, but still exists.
The sad reason why unscrupulous parties win popular votes.

But can just as easily be used for good (i.e. marketing Indie products).

It feels good to be outside and feel some air in your face, even when it’s cold. Relaxes the soul, somehow.

So here‘s a random image of a couple of trees under blue sky.
