That’s interesting, in California we’re told to stay inside and take cover. Leave the building after an earthquake if it’s damaged. Reasoning being that you’re going to get hit by stuff while leaving the building (pieces of building, poles, downed electrical wires).

FYI you’re not supposed to run outside during an earthquake. You’re supposed to take cover.
