'Touched By The Hand Of God' by New Order was released as a single this day in December 1987. The song was originally recorded for the soundtrack to the film 'Salvation!' and the version released as a single was remixed by Arthur Baker.

The single placed No. 20 in the UK singles chart.

'Oxygène' was first released on this day in France in 1976. Jean-Michel Jarre's third studio album, its success was preceeded by breakthrough single 'Oxygène (Part IV)'.

'Oxygène' reached No. 1 on the French Albums Charts and No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart.

On this day in 1979, 'Living By Numbers' by New Musik was released. It was the band's biggest hit single, peaking at No. 13 in the UK. 🎸

Frontman Tony Mansfield later went on to produce albums by a-ha, Captain Sensible, Naked Eyes, Vicious Pink, The B52s and Mari Wilson. 🎹

New Order single 'Fine Time' was released on this day in November 1988. The first single from the band's 1989 album 'Technique', the song was written and partially recorded in Ibiza.

'Fine Time' reached No. 11 on the UK Singles Chart.

'Architecture & Morality' was released on this day in 1981. OMD's third studio album, it featured the singles 'Souvenir', 'Joan of Arc' and 'Maid of Orleans'.

Regarded as a classic synth-pop album of its time, 'Architecture & Morality' reached No. 3 in the UK charts on release.
