Here's something I'm considering at the moment.. if you were going to move house (and live there for a decade or so) what would you be hoping for from the dwelling and the locale? (I have arthritis, so I have specifics around access, but I'm wondering what folk think are dealbreakers in a place?)

2. Opened day 2 of my advent calendar (2nd hand lego from ebay)
3. Emptied 5 boxes from papa's

Just saw a headline that says the average household in the UK spends £185 on Christmas decorations each year. What. The. Actual. Fuck? £185. I'm glad I was sitting down when I read it

2. Searched 4 chimneys and hearths
3. Said thankyou and goodbye to every room in my parent's house
4. Came home to a power cut

I checked the chimney. Empty. Undaunted, I tried the hearth. Underneath the grate was an envelope. As dry as tinder, but relatively clean. On the envelope are the initials P and D. It stands for "precious daughter". How I loved my papa.

Tomorrow I go to my pa's house for the last time. It's been sold (I hope) so it's time to do a final check, remove any last stuff we've missed, and to check the chimneys to follow a possible trail papa left behind.

Read an interesting article yesterday that says the average Londoner buys 48 articles of clothing a year. A. Year. It made me wonder. I went back through my shopping history - 72 items in the last 6 years (includes knickers, bras and socks). 12 a year? And that feels like a lot
