Man, BE devs have it good with testing. Even with all of the amazing FE testing tools (RTL, Cypress/Playwright), there is always _some_ race condition or async quirk to deal with.

BE testing is easy mode. Request in, response out. A caveman could do it.

Filament Christmas come early! Side-note: this cost fewer Canadian dollars than the same order in USD, *without conversion*, because of tariffs. So like... 30% cheaper overall. 🇨🇦

@leaflet.pub the desktop discover view styles are so broken 😣 I have home theme set to get a basic black-and-white dark mode, but those are only partially applied to discover, resulting in invisible text and buttons.

zod has 0 dependencies, 40,000+ dependents... 🤯 Only package I can find that beats this is typescript (0/60,000+) and, of course, the most over-used package on all of NPM, lodash (0/190,000+)

Why is this still not part of the React package? The class component API is 5+ years behind the times, but that's just mildly annoying. The bigger issue IMO, with the recent NPM supply-chain attacks, is the reliance on a completely unnecessary dependency. I usually just write my own, but... 😮‍💨

Huh, apparently ESLint 9 is much, much easier to configure. 30-40 lines? I used to spin up separate packages with multiple 100+ line files for this. Maybe I need to stop bashing ESLint as much...

TanStack announces release candidate, and the "Web Dev Trending" feed has no mention, continues to be 90% web components, Ruby, PHP, other random stuff.

React absolutely dominates web dev, but I have to go hunting for ecosystem news. Subreddits, YT, "web dev" podcasts, same thing. I don't get it.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Navarro on anything 🫤 Tariffs aren't really the best way to put pressure on Modi, and *severe* secondary sanctions on Indian businesses would be more effective, but the simple truth is that India is profiting off of the war and needs to be countered.
