His wife (found sister) also works remotely for her job in Florida, she does cancer medical trials. There's options. The housing is comparatively far more affordable all over the state except in NYC itself. And it's beautiful. Yes there's snow, has to be some drawbacks.

If not there's a huge research presence in Rochester and Buffalo. And I believe Syracuse as well. One of my found family brothers is at univ of Rochester as a research librarian. And Buffalo has a massive medical corridor, including Roswell.
