I made these today. Same idea, different scales. Timeline of the first 5000 days of the Voyager missions to the outer planets. Each bead stands for 10 days. Planet beads when they were sciencing planets. Gold bead for each new year. Wrap bracelet ($250) or hanging art ($290). #EmilysSpaceCraft

In somewhat terrifying but hopefully positive personal news, I've decided to purchase an extremely expensive 10x10 booth in the exhibit hall at the American Geophysical Union meeting in December. I'll be selling my gemstone and wire jewelry and art. I hope you'll come find me there.

This bit of wisdom was posted in my Pilates studio today, but I feel like it applies to other things happening today, too. #nokings

While sitting with my dad in the hospital today I got to work beading a bezel around this oval-shaped dendritic jasper cabochon. Finished it up this evening. I plan to make it into a bolo tie for him.

The other Mars global data set I'd want to look at is thermal inertia, which is a measure of how quickly the surface heats up in response to the Sun (and then cools off when the Sun sets). On Mars, this is controlled mostly by dust, which has low thermal inertia (it heats and cools fast).

Here's a global view of Mars where you can see Elysium mons at upper center, so high that there are clouds gathering around its peak. This shows approximately the same hemisphere of Mars as the Europa Clipper thermal image. photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA0...

Here are the two released versions of the Europa Clipper E-THEMIS image of Mars. I think it's the same data, just colorized differently. Both represent surface temperature, ranging from a high of 0C to a low of -125C. I like the grayscale one better, so that's the one I'll refer to below.

Hey #LPSC2025! I’m once again posted up in the Marriott lobby to make space jewelry. Come buy a badge lanyard, earrings, or bracelet; or take my Solar System Worlds quiz; or check out my beautiful new Mars coffee table book.

I know this is a common occurrence for most of you science folks but there is a poster with an associated paper that cites my Master’s work and I’m proud of 22-year-old me 🥹 #LPSC2025
