Practicing loving and being kind to yourself will improve the quality of your life and bring in more of the love you want. Here's what I've learned.
Title: You Should Be Kind and Loving to Yourself. Here’s How and Why. Intro: Your best chance of getting the amount and type of love you want is to first give it to yourself. And doing so dramatically increases the chances of others seeing how to love you ... and then doing it. Everything in my life improved when I began to love me. Here's what I learned. 1. Talk kindly and lovingly to yourself—and practice it often. Be your biggest fan. Be especially loving to yourself when you look in the mirror, and when you look at, and think of, your body. Being kind and loving to yourself trains your nervous system to attune to others speaking to you in the same loving way. 2. When someone compliments you, receive the compliment! Pause. Take it in. Enjoy it. Say thank you. Receiving compliments develops your ability to receive love and other forms of attention. 3. Celebrate you. Anything can be cause for celebration. Just finish the dishes? Let out a woo-hoo! Got up on time and went to the gym? Text a friend and share! Completed your taxes? Put on some music and dance! Celebrating you normalizes feeling good in your body. 4. Go on a self-appreciation diet. I did this for several months when I decided to start changing my life. Write five appreciations of yourself in the morning and five at night. It may be challenging. It’s okay to repeat sometimes. Get creative, even make it weird. If you keep with it, you’ll develop appreciation superpowers that will flow from you to all your relationships. @Elaineist
