Congratulations to the 194 Gardaí and 17 reserves who were attested in Templemore today. The wet conditions failed to diminish the immense pride expressed by the families present.

This was the Commissioner’s first salute in Templemore since he began his new role.

Very grateful to attend the National Commemoration yesterday on behalf of the Policing and Community Safety Authority.

The Policing & Community Safety Authority held its monthly meeting with the Garda leadership team today. Next meeting in public with Garda Commissioner, and his final meeting before retirement, will be 31st of July.

Today, the PCSA published the findings of a report into An Garda Síochána’s policing performance throughout 2024.

Our review found that four out of 18 targets were fully achieved, while nine were partially met.

Today was the my first attestation as Chair of the newly inaugurated Policing and Community Safety Authority. I was delighted to attend with Donal de Buitleir, Chair of the newly established Garda Board.

My deepest condolences to the family, friends & colleagues of Garda Kevin Flatley. A devastating loss to all who knew him.

The 90th Garda who lost his life in service to the State & the people of Ireland. A sacrifice we must continuously remember. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

The new Policing and Community Safety Authority (PCSA) was established today.
Combining the functions of the Policing Authority and An Garda Síochána Inspectorate, the PCSA will also take on an additional Community Safety role in ensuring that people in Ireland are not only safe, but feel safe.
