The local hospital has a volunteer therapy dog, Ben. Ben is ALL IN on receiving attention & pets from everyone in the waiting room.
A large, golden doodle dog is dressed like a turkey for Thanksgiving. He is thrilled to get everyone's attention. Yours too, please. All must pet Ben!

Gorgeous sunset from a couple days ago.

A baby CPR mannequin, looking creepy. It is only vaguely featured, except for the open, plastic-covered mouth. (You can practice both emergency breathing and finger sweeps.) It wears an orange onesie. (Also important to get in the habit of removing clothing for CPR.)

Tried making kletskoppen today. You can see why the Belgian name means "Belgian lace". When you eat them, you understand the translation of the Dutch: chatterbox (they are loudly crunchy).

Some critters from yesterday's jaunt to the mountains. We also saw the elk herd, which you'renot allowedto leave the park until you do.

Went up to one of our happy places yesterday. We'll worth the time. 🧡

Reading a novel where they describe a woman as having "pavonine" features. Pavonine means "like a peacock." (Yes, I looked it up.)

What does the author mean by this??? Pointy nose? Iridescent blue? Likely to scream loudly?

At a local lab to get a blood draw, they had a good sign up.

Visitor in the midday. Usually we see the coyotes around here at dawn or early morning (in summer anyway), before it gets too hot. No idea what this one thought they were doing out at this time.
A coyote, mouth open and tongue lolling in the heat, trots along a concrete path through prairie grass and shrubs. A lake is visible in the background. The picture is not great, taken past the optical zoom range on a phone camera. But, you use the tools you have at hand when the wildlife shows up.

Tried a new restaurant in town with delicious hand-made pasta and excellent cannoli.
A white plate holds four cannoli, which are fried, rolled-up shells filled with whipped and flavored ricotta. Two of the shells are coated in dark chocolate; two are uncoated so you can see the gold color and the perfect blisters from frying. There is also a deep purple pansy and some chocolate drizzle on the plate.

We have a new neighbor: a banded garden spider (Argiope trifasciata Forsskal). She is very quiet, but I suspect my human neighbors won't appreciate her so much. 🤷‍♀️

If you're referring to the central dome on San Marco, it's actually 2 domes, one in front of the other. The painting could be clearer, it's true.

Today I learned that a local doctor's office has a practice of making an official nametag & job for every stuffie there.
This is Goose, they work in IT. Very personable but honestly not that good with computers. Their only advice is: Try turning it off and back on again.
A fluffy, brown, stuffed animal with horns sits on a wooden slat shelf. (It could be a longhorn, a yak, maybe even a bison? Anyway it is definitely NOT a goose.) The stuffie has a name tag reading: Employee. Goose M. Information Technology."

Checking the kitten thermometer. Long kitten means it's hot today.
