It’s interesting that the budget deal was led by the 2 New Hampshire senators. Both of them must have got the sense talking to NH voters that the shutdown was going to cost the Democrats a Senate seat in 2026 in their purple state (the successor to Shaheen, who is retiring.)

I will only disagree with you that when you use the term “Progressives” you actually mean “leftists.” I have had numerous online conversations w/ leftist antisemites, & many of them dismiss progressives as being corporatist shills. Most progressives, such as myself, reject leftist antisemitism.

In the last few weeks Jeffries has changed his tone & become much more aggressive & public in his criticisms of the GOP. I suspect this is due to all the members of the House Dem caucus now understand the moment we’re in, & he is now free to express himself fully w/o threatening unity of the caucus.

No matter your feelings about Comey, to have the DOJ indict him on trumped up charges cause Trump views Comey as his personal enemy should outrage all of us. First they came for Comey. Your negative feelings about Comey, which I also share, are irrelevant. Just like the Mahmoud Kahlil case, where his arrest was an abomination even though I greatly disagreed with his views, the indictment of Comey represents our further descent into an authoritarian hell.
