A number of Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, and Indian immigrant families in our neighborhood are moving out of the US. Some are returning to their home countries, at least 2 families are moving to Canada. Healthcare workers, professors, medical researchers… brain drain of crucial STEM professionals.

Do you know what also does this but in a way that doesn’t open up unknown consequences? Plants. But, unfortunately, regenerative agriculture isn’t a high profit industry.

This. The Target and Amazon boycotts have actually been positively changing my family’s relationship to consumption. I repaired a torn backpack the other week instead of buying a new one, using one of those emergency sewing kits businesses give out. Surprisingly simple and didn’t look half bad.
