What were you doing right before you picked up your phone just now?

Do you remember why you grabbed it?

If not, you’re not alone. The algorithms are designed to pull you back to your phone, over and over.

Find out why, how, and how to make it stop in tomorrow’s Substack.

It’s a doozy.

You weren’t supposed to enjoy using the internet. You were supposed to submit to it.

And when you push back? It adapts.

In this week’s Substack, I explain how the platforms put you to work for their profit, without your consent.

Spoiler: using private browsing or a VPN doesn’t offer the anonymity you think it does.

Any Democrat supporting censure better answer for all the times they remained silent on worse behavior.

Enough with the “when they go low, we go high” approach. That’s just self-righteous defeatism.

When they go low, we need to do roundhouse kicks.

Almost settled into my new place. It’s been >20 years since I lived in the city and I forgot how much I love it!

Such a strange feeling, though. It’s like I spliced the soundtrack of my life, cut out two decades, and continued on with the song.

Just fired off emails to my state’s Senators and Representative. I’ll be following with phone calls as well. This blue dot DNGAF that they’re red.

Here’s what I sent, if you’d like to give your Congresspeople a piece of your mind. They need to know we expect action regardless of political party.

Going to be interesting to see Trump follow his M.O. and throw Musk under the bus after the dirty work is done. Trump will have consolidated power in the executive branch plus neutered Congress and the agencies.

My days are starting to feel stuck on repeat.

This has to be the strangest U.S. Navy recruiting ad I’ve ever seen.

Come to think of it, “LLM séances” could make learning much more enjoyable.

Imagine how shocked they’ll be to learn that no one who doesn’t have to wants to work in brutal weather doing backbreaking work that doesn’t pay enough to buy a home or decent car, much less afford things made costly by tariffs.

Do yourself a favor: turn off “show replies.” You’ll clear out what seems to be randomness or political stuff from people you’ve followed for professional reasons.

Plus, you won’t wind up chiming in midway on a discussion that’s not about what you think. 😉

Guess I’ll have to scroll social media to find out how quickly Jake Paul goes down.
