I remember when there was a discussion on Twitter about Shein's manufacturing practices and some apologists invented all sorts of fantastical machinery and technology to avoid facing the more horrifying truth. Reminds me of this comedian's joke.

It baffles me that so few people are sounding this alarm. Trump said it himself last July: “In four years, you don’t have to vote again.”
He has baseball caps saying “Trump 2028”, Grijalva still hasn’t been sworn in… no-one seems to be joining the dots: there will be no more elected Democrats.

Actors?! A few at the top of the tree may make fortunes, but the vast majority of us (roughly 96%, the last time Equity checked) hold down full-time second jobs to support ourselves. It's one of the most insecure professions there is.

Strangely, I had less concern for Sal and Dean chasing the spirit of jazz across the dying beat scene of America, and more for the numberless horde of women they left raising fatherless children in their wake...

Gaaah, bloody hell. I misread that as "The Road" and thought "weird comparison, but okay."
Re-read it and felt like an idiot, not least because I think On The Road is self-important drivel. Count me squarely on team Fear & Loathing.
